Bio

Adam Bernstein, Principal, brings over 10 years of energy and finance experience to his responsibilities for investment evaluation, structuring, and execution as a member of NEC's Investment Committee. Recently, Adam was selected by the Federal Department of Energy to independently review Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy stimulus grant applications. Prior to joining NEC, Adam was a Senior Financial Analyst at FPL Energy (currently NextEra Energy), the largest renewable energy operator in North America. At FPL he completed valuation and project finance analysis on over 2,000 megawatts of power generation, including tax-equity and portfolio syndications. Before FPL, Adam spent 4 years with J.P. Morgan Securities as a salestrader, researching and executing equity, fixed income, and derivative transactions. Adam began his career at GE Capital Commercial Finance analyzing asset-based loans and securitizations and has worked on Goldman Sachs commodities trading desk. Adam is a CFA Charterholder and a graduate of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth (MBA) and Emory University (BBA). He is finishing his Engineering degree (MS) from the Thayer School at Dartmouth while completing thesis research on combining Bayesian statistical methods with real options valuation models to analyze renewable energy feasibility.
