Alan Smith

Bio

Alan is a Venture Partner with Quantum Energy Partners where his primary responsibility is running the day-to-day operations of Quantum Resources Management, LLC, as President and Chief Executive Officer, as well as charting the strategic direction of the company along with its Chairman, Donald D. Wolf. With significant experience in petroleum engineering and field operations, as well as strong commercial and leadership skills gained from his prior experience with Chalker Energy Partners (“Chalker”), Ocean Energy, Burlington Resources, Ryder Scott Company and ARCO Oil and Gas Company, Alan has actively worked with many of Quantum’s portfolio companies on strategic, operational and other value-building activities. He has been associated with Quantum since 2003 when Quantum funded his start-up company Chalker, where he served as President and CEO. Upon selling Chalker in 2006, he joined Quantum. He serves as a board member for the Houston Producer’s Forum and the Southeastern Region IPAA and also serves in an advisory capacity to the Texas Tech Department of Petroleum Engineering and the Texas Tech Engineering Dean’s Council. Alan holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
