Bio

Mr Poland is responsible for oversight of Bay West and its activities. In addition to his involvement with Bay West, he is Chairman of Bay West Group which he founded in 1979 with a strategy to create value in development of urban infill, opportunistic, and adaptive re-use situations. Bay West Group has developed, owned and operated several million square feet of investments throughout the western United States, including the San Francisco Design Center, Galleria, Seattle Design Center and Seattle Gift Center, multi-tenant garden office and industrial as well as Brownfield site reclamation. Mr Poland is currently overseeing a re-entitlement of two Bay West Group owned sites into over one million square feet of urban mixed-use product. Prior to Bay West’s formation, he was VP in charge of the Northern California office of Cabot, Cabot & Forbes where he oversaw the addition of 4.5 million square feet in various business parks. Mr Poland serves on the Board of Trustees of the Buck Institute for Age Research and Georgia Tech President’s Advisory Board and Lambda Alpha Land Economic Society. He has previously served as Chairman of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau; President of the Olympic Club; Ross Town Council; Board of Directors of the Emerald Bowl and Charles Schwab Cup. Mr Poland earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech University and his MBA from Stanford University.
