Bio

A partner based in the London office. As part of the Actis management team, focuses on business development and a variety of central initiatives including strategy, sectors, banking, knowledge management, and service provider relationships. In addition, sits on the firm’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining Actis in 2008, spent 12 months on sabbatical from a career in investment banking, completing a Master’s degree in International Development. Had spent the previous 11 years as a Managing Director at Barclays Capital in London, where founded the firm’s leveraged finance business and served on the firm’s management committee from 2002. Prior to joining Barclays Capital, was a Director of SG Warburg and was also Group Treasurer of WPP Group plc in the early 1990s. Began his career in US commercial banking. Graduate of Oxford University, he has a MA in International Development.
