Bio

Mr Taylor is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse's Asset Management business, based in London. He is Head of Alternative Investments for Europe and Managing Director and a Partner in DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, the firm's leveraged buyout business. His role includes responsibility for the Bank's private equity investments in Europe. Mr Taylor is a member of the Alternative Investments Management Committee, the investment and operating committees of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners and he is a member of the Credit Suisse EMEA Management Committee. He serves as a co-chair of Credit Suisse Group's Managing Director Election Committee. Mr Taylor also sits on the Investment Committees of Gulf Capital and Mubadala Infrastructure Partners, Credit Suisse's Middle East private equity affiliates. In the past five years, Mr Taylor has helped DLJMB to complete more than USD 2 billion in equity investments in a range of companies in Europe. He is a director of several DLJ Merchant Banking portfolio companies including Grohe - the German sanitary fittings business, Nycomed - the global specialty pharmaceutical company, Education Travel Group - the UK education services company and Guala Closures - the Italian speciality closures company. Mr Taylor previously was a director of Gala Group Limited - the UK's leading gaming business, Safilo - the Italian eyewear company, neuf Telecom - the leading French telecommunications company, and several other private companies. Mr Taylor joined Credit Suisse First Boston in 1990, and has held a number of senior management roles. Prior to his current role, he was a member of the investment banking department where he specialised in mergers and acquisitions in the power, energy and water sectors. Prior to joining Credit Suisse First Boston, Mr Taylor was at IBM where he was a system engineer, marketing representative and financial controller. Mr Taylor serves on the Queen's University School of Business Advisory Board. Mr Taylor holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with honours from Queen's University in Canada and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
