Curtis co-founded Intervale Capital to build on the success of a similar investment firm he launched in 2002, Freebird Partners. Curtis has over ten years of operating and financial experience in public oilfield services and in private equity. Prior to beginning his private equity career in 2002, he spent five years in senior executive positions in the oilfield services sector. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Grant Prideco, a provider of oilfield services with over $1.5 billion in revenue. Prior to Grant Prideco, he served as Executive Vice President and CFO of Weatherford International (NYSE: "WFT") a provider of oilfield services with over $7 billion in revenue. He also serves as a director at Patterson-UTI Energy (NASDAQ: "PTEN") a provider of drilling services with over $2 billion in revenue. Previously, Curtis was a Partner at Fulbright & Jaworski, where he specialized in M&A and securities law. Curtis earned a B.A. and a J.D., with honors, from the University of New Mexico, and an L.L.M., from New York University. Curtis is a former chairman of the Texas Business Law Foundation.
