Bio

David has extensive experience advising, building and investing in leading communications, digital media and technology companies, an increasing number of whom have significant operations and markets in China. David is a Managing Partner of the firm and served as a General Partner of its predecessor, ComVentures. Before joining ComVentures, he worked at JPMorgan Partners, where he was a General Partner and the global head of the firm's communications, semiconductors and storage technology investment group. Before that, David was a member of the founding team of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell (DMG) Technology Group, which later became Credit Suisse First Boston. There, he established the global communications equipment practice, advising and investing in numerous high growth companies. He is a member of the Silicon Valley Telecom Council and participates on the Infotech Advisory Board, a leading venture capital firm and a strategic partner of the firm in China. Ahura Scientific (acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific), Aurora Networks, Celestial Semiconductor, Exalt Communications, HotRail (acquired by Conexant), PortalPlayer (NASD: PLAY) and SG Micro. David holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
