Mr Snell is an Operating Partner at Thayer, a position created in 2003 to add experienced operational input to the Firm. He was previously Chairman and CEO of Federal-Mogul Corporation, a $6 billion automotive parts manufacturer. During his tenure, the company increased sales by 220% and net earnings by 810%, while completing eleven acquisitions and 14 divestitures. Mr Snell successfully completed two common equity, one convertible preferred and two bond offerings to finance Federal-Mogul's growth. He was recognized by "Worth" magazine in 1998 as one of the top 50 CEOs, and also by "Fortune" magazine as one of the fastest growing companies in 1998 and 1999. Prior to Federal-Mogul, Mr Snell was CEO of Tenneco Automotive, a $3 billion automotive parts manufacturer, where he increased sales and profits by 50% in his three years as CEO. Before being named CEO, Mr Snell had successful assignments at Tenneco, leading Walker Manufacturing and the retail business. Mr Snell received his Master of Business Administration from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts from Union College.
