Bio

Don Washburn joined the Advisory Council of Century Park Capital Partners in 2008. Don has over 25 years of management and operating experience and has provided valuable industry knowledge on several potential transactions at Century Park. From 1990 to 1998, Don served as Executive Vice President of Northwest Airlines where he was responsible for over 43,000 employees and a $6 billion budget. While at Northwest, Don also served as Chairman and President of Northwest Cargo. Prior to joining Northwest, Don was with Marriott Corporation for over 10 years, most recently serving as Executive Vice President. During his time with Marriott, he was responsible for the creation and management of the Courtyard Hotel division and management of Marriott’s real estate development activities worldwide. Previously, Don held positions with BoozAllen, The Quaker Oats Company and Inland Steel Co. Don serves on the Board of Directors of Specialty Manufacturing, Inc., a current Century Park portfolio company that supplies niche components to the bus and light rail markets. Don is also an active member of the boards of several public and private corporations. Additionally, he is a member of the boards of Stand for Children, Friends of the Children, Oregon Business Association and several other nonprofit organizations. Don is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, Kellogg School of Management and Northwestern University’s School of Law. He has done post-graduate study in finance, marketing and corporate governance at Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Chicago, Wharton and Kellogg.
