Gerry Brown joined Catalyst Partners in 2008 to support the firm’s growing homeland and national security consulting practice. Gerry is responsible for overseeing the firm’s business development efforts in the Southwest region of the country. In particular, she is helping businesses that are seeking assistance with navigating the rigorous SAFETY Act application process by collaborating with Catalyst Partners principal Dr. Dave McWhorter. Ms. Brown brings a background in marketing and political organizing to Catalyst Partners. Most recently, Ms. Brown conducted market research for Raindrop Farms, specifically focusing on placing the company’s heirloom tomatoes in high-end restaurants located in the Dallas, San Antonio and Houston regions. This work was done in the midst of investigations by federal agencies (including DHS) concerning potential safety issues within the tomato and jalapeño pepper supply chains. Ms. Brown also brings political campaign experience at both the local and national levels. As part of a group of mothers lobbying the Mississippi legislature, she worked closely with now U.S. Senator Roger Wicker on family and health care issues. Previously, Ms. Brown has also served as a high school choral director and was a member of a curriculum committee overseeing the selection of science textbooks for middle school students across the state of Texas. She has been an active volunteer in her church, serving as a worship leader and overseeing several different ministries. Ms. Brown received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in 1978.
