Career
Jay Houlihan, Managing Director, has been with InnoCal since 1994. Jay is an experienced venture capital and growth equity manager working with portfolio companies at various stages of maturity in the areas of Internet applications, information technology, health care information technology and business and health care services.
An active financial partner, Jay has served as a strategic business consultant for portfolio companies providing guidance and expertise on business development, CEO mentoring, acquisition programs, organizational development and executive search coordination and capital structure. He has served on the board of directors for 14 InnoCal portfolio companies and is currently a director of Nexiant Inc., and Siderean Software. Jay is a regular speaker and participant with industry groups in Southern California and currently serves on the board of OCTANe and the Beall Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UCI.
Prior to joining InnoCal, Jay was with Boston Capital Ventures (BCV) a venture capital and growth equity partnership based in Boston.
Education
Jay received a BA in Political Science from Middlebury College and an MBA in Finance from the Boston University School of Management.

At BCV he served on the board of directors of six portfolio companies in the areas of software, health care and information technology.
