John McNamara joined Stewart Capital in 1996 as Chief Executive Officer after six years as an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation and Drexel Burnham Lambert, where he specialized in leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and merchant banking transactions. During his tenure as an investment banker, Mr. McNamara completed over twenty corporate finance transactions with an aggregate dollar volume in excess of $5.0 billion. He also served in various operating capacities as a General Manager of the Corporate Division of Davis Wire Corporation in Irwindale, California during the Heico Group’s LBO turnaround of the $125 million basic manufacturing company. At Stewart Capital, he manages all of the company’s partnerships and oversees all aspects of the company’s operations. Mr. McNamara has held various positions of civic responsibility, including Board of Directors memberships with the New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center, the Young Leadership Council and the Good Shepherd Nativity School, where he also served as capital campaign chairman, and President’s Advisory Council Memberships with the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University and Jesuit High School of New Orleans. Mr. McNamara received his BS in finance magna cum laude from Georgetown University in 1987 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1992.
