Karen King

Bio

Karen King is a Managing Director and joined Silver Lake in 2004. As the Chief Legal Officer, she oversees a team of lawyers in Menlo Park, New York, San Francisco, London and Hong Kong. Ms. King and her team are involved in all aspects of the firm's business from fundraising to deal execution to portfolio management and liquidity, as well as risk management. Prior to joining Silver Lake, Ms. King worked for a number of years at the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in its Palo Alto, New York and London offices. During her time there she worked on capital markets transactions, such as initial public offerings and high yield debt financings, as well as mergers and acquisitions, including representing several private equity firms. Ms. King holds an A.B. from Duke University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School and serves on the boards of several non-profit institutions.
