Bio

Mr. Bird is responsible for portfolio company oversight and leading operational due diligence efforts, as well as leading The Gores Group's operational efforts in the consumer sector.Mr. Bird started his professional career with BayBanks, where he was an Assistant Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer. Mr Prior to joining Gores, Mr. Bird was Group President at Nike, leading Nike's portfolio of Affiliate brands (Bauer, Cole Haan, Converse, Hurley, Starter, and Umbro), Nike's M&A efforts, and operating as a member of Nike's Executive Committee. Prior to Nike, Mr. Bird was a senior officer at Gap Inc., where he served in multiple executive roles including EVP of New Business Development, Chief Operating Officer of Gap's flagship brand, and Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer of Old Navy. Before Gap, Mr. Bird served as Vice President of Finance & Operations for Gateway's Consumer Division. Prior to Gateway, Mr. Bird served in numerous leadership roles in finance, operations and strategy with Honeywell, and Ford Motor Company. Mr. Bird earned a B.S. in Finance from Ithaca College, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the M.B.A. program at the Olin Graduate School of Management at Babson College.
