Bio

Started his career working as a computer scientist at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, ETH in Zurich, and as an associate at Harvard. He left academia in 1991 to join Digital Equipment in Boston as Technical Director of High Performance Computing. In 1995 Marco became the Director of Digital's Western Research Laboratory (WRL) in Palo Alto, California, where AltaVista, novel PDAs, and innovative high-end servers were developed. He left WRL in 1999 to join Voyan Technology in Santa Clara, California, as VP of Engineering. After almost 20 years spent abroad, Marco returned to Italy at the beginning of 2000 to be VP of Engineering and Technology of Milan-based Matrix SpA. Here he was responsible for the technology behind Virgilio, the leading consumer portal in Italy, the Italian On-Line Yellow Pages, and other B2B Internet products such as www.giallo.it. Marco joined Net Partners in July 2001. Graduated in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 1980.
