Marius Abel

Bio

Mr Abel has been working in the software and hardware industries for over 20 years. Born and educated in Germany, he moved to the United States in the 1980’s. Working at Amdahl Computers in the 80's, he then served as Vice President of Technology for Software AG, responsible for international software development activities in Reston, Virginia. As General Manager for UB Networks Product Division he was responsible for hardware and software development, developing Ethernet and ATM switches as well as the first Web based Network Management Products. Recently he was Chief Technology Officer for Tandem’s Telecom Group, involved with the merger between Compaq and Tandem. Mr Abel joined Insight Venture Partners in 1999 as a Venture Partner and joined Favonius Ventures in 2001. He also served as Interim CTO at Internet startup Oneswoop.com in London.
