Michael Belfonti is Chairman of the Board for Belfonti Capital Partners, LLC. In addition, he serves as President and CEO of Belfonti Associates, LLC and as Co-Chairman of the Board for Belfonti Properties. Mr. Belfonti has had several notable speaking engagements. In 2005, he appeared on the television show "The Stoler Report: Real Estate Trends in the Tri-State Region", hosted by Michael Stoler, in a broadcast entitled "The State of Real Estate for 2005: Real Estate Leaders' Perspective". The show aired on CUNY TV, Channel 75 in New York City on 11 dates from December 27, 2004 through January 26, 2005. On October 14, 2004, Mr. Belfonti was also a panelist on the "Developers' Forum" at the Metropolitan Symposium on Income Property and Commercial & Residential Real Estate, an annual event sponsored by Mortgage Bankers Association of New York, Inc. and New York University. Other panelists included Jeff Blau, President of The Related Companies, and Joseph Moinian, CEO of The Moinian Group.In 2001, Mr. Belfonti was approached by the City Manager of Worcester, Massachusetts, Tom Hoover, to present his views on the current state of the real estate market in the Worcester area. At that time, Mr. Belfonti had recently acquired a 400,000 square foot mixed-use portfolio in downtown Worcester. The portfolio consisted of residential, retail and office space in three buildings, all of which were located on the Worcester Commons. He presented a speech entitled "Real Estate Trends" to the Worcester, Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce on May 9, 2001.In addition to his speaking engagements, Mr. Belfonti authored the article, "Economic Analysis of the Industrial Market in New Haven County, CT," which was published in the Real Estate Review in the Fall 2003, Vol. 32, No. 3 edition.On October 29, 2006, Mr. Belfonti was honored as “Man of the Year” by Chabad Lubavitch of Northwest Connecticut, a Jewish community-based not-for-profit organization whose programs help the needy regardless of background or belief. Mr. Belfonti is spearheading a project to build a new Chabad Community Center in the greater Waterbury area. The Center will house a soup kitchen, a drug counseling center, and a center for Jewish religious studies.He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Harvard Business School Club of CT, and the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce, Inc., and he is a former member of the Economic Club of New York. Mr. Belfonti presently holds memberships at the Penn Club of New York, New Haven Lawn Club, and Woodbridge Country Club. Mr. Belfonti is deeply involved in philanthropic efforts. He has created endowment funds in the names of family members at two local Catholic high schools, Notre Dame High School in West Haven, CT and Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden, CT, and he continues to contribute to both funds. He also supports Cheshire Academy, a non-profit college-preparatory school located in Cheshire, CT, having served on the Board of Trustees and as its Chairman of the Development Committee. He is presently serving on Cheshire Academy's Board of Overseers.Mr. Belfonti has also served on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Connecticut, and on the Board of Directors for Kids for Kids, Dancing for Life, Inc., a non-profit group that raises funds for children's charities. Mr. Belfonti received his Masters of Science in Real Estate from New York University. He is also a graduate of Harvard School of Business' "Owners & Presidents Management Program", an intensive three-year course of studies for business executives. He completed his undergraduate work at Boston University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Mr. Belfonti believes that education is a life-long process, not only for himself but also for his employees, which is one of the foundations of his companies' success.
