Bio

Mr Michael joined Open Prairie Ventures in 2006 as General Partner and manager of the Open Prairie Ventures Kansas City office. He serves as the Board of Directors representative for Cernium, Infoblox and KCBioMedix. He has over 10 years of experience developing and investing in the life science technology and agriculture sectors. Prior to joining Open Prairie, Michael served as the fund manager for the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation (KTEC) technology fund, a $20 million seed and early-stage venture fund focused on making investments throughout Kansas He has held executive level positions with several technology start-up companies and has played an integral role in the development of Kansas' capital formation legislation and a statewide network of angel investors. As a manager with Accenture, Michael worked extensively with the Supply Chain Management Strategy practice developing e-commerce and business to business solutios for companies in the retail and computer industries. Mr Michael was named one of Ingram's Magazines 2006 "40 Under Forty" Class. He is active in the Kansas City community, co-hosting a local radio show on entrepreneurship and he directs the Kansas City Kellogg Alumni association Mr Michale was a member representative to the National Venture Capital Association and Mid-America Healthcare Investors Network and serves on the board for Invest Midwest Mr holds a Masters of Business Administration from Kellogg School at Northwestern University, a Masters of Engineering Management from the McCormick School of Engineering and a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas
