Mirtcho Spassov

Bio

Mr Mirtcho Spassov joined GEF in 2007 and is currently an Associate on the Emerging Markets team. A considerable amount of his time at GEF has been dedicated to GEF’s investments activities in the Energy sector globally and he also provides on-going support to GEF’s Central and Eastern European portfolio companies. Prior to joining GEF, Mr Spassov was an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group’s New York office, where he was involved in a wide-range of management consulting assignments in the US and Central and Eastern Europe. Some of his experiences include the completion of healthcare sector strategic due-diligence in Russia, the development of a market entry strategy in district heating and energy services in Bulgaria, and supporting a bank merger integration in South-Eastern Europe. Mr Spassov holds a BA, magna cum laude, in Economics and Computer Science from Yale University. He speaks Bulgarian, Russian, and German and has a basic knowledge of Hungarian and Polish.
