Bio

Over 20 years of professional experience in business consultancy, diplomacy, economic research, fund management and private client services. Began his career (as a junior accountant) in 1984 at Controle AE Ltd, a pioneer in multinational management services, in São Paulo, Brazil. In 1987, after competitive examinations, joined the Brazilian Embassy in Washington, as an Economic Specialist and Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Mission. In 1994, moved to London where, as Investment Manager and Senior Economist, set up and managed the investment and research departments of BB (Banco do Brasil) Securities Ltd, and went on to manage over USD 750 million in emerging market and investment grade funds over the next five years. Later consulted on economic and financial projects for a number of clients such as the IMF, CalPERS and MetLife. Prior to joining Anchorage, was a Senior Vice President with BlueStone Capital Partners. MBA in finance from Strayer University and a BA in economics and politics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Conducted post-graduate research in developmental economics at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas and holds a diploma in technical analysis, as well as the IMC.
