Bio

Phil has been designing and building medical devices for most of his professional career. He has brought numerous products to market and uses that expertise at Norwich Ventures to assess new technologies and assist entrepreneurs with development and manufacturing. Prior to joining Norwich Ventures, Phil was the President and COO of Arrow International, where he oversaw worldwide R&D and manufacturing efforts. Phil's most recent development projects focused on cardiac assist, including oversight of the LionHeart™ and CorAide™ devices. In addition, Phil oversaw opening the first-ever manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic by a U.S. company. Before his thirty year career at Arrow, Phil was an engineer at Rockwell International and Atlas Chemical Industries. Phil serves on the board of directors of the Burn Prevention Foundation and the advisory board of Ben Franklin Technology Partners. Phil earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. He has attended University of Pennsylvania for graduate work in mechanical engineering and has attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
