Bio

Ruby Lu brings a wealth of expertise from investment banking and consulting and helps DCM invest in and build companies with a global vision. Ruby is actively involved with early and late stage Asia-related portfolio companies. She sourced and led DCM’s investment in VanceInfo (NYSE: VIT), BitAuto (NYSE: BITA), and Dangdang (NYSE: DANG), and remains as a board member. Prior to joining DCM, Ruby was a Vice President in the Technology, Media and Telecom Investment Banking Group of Goldman Sachs. Ruby’s clients included leading technology companies such as AMI Semiconductor, Brocade, Digital China, Hutchison Whampoa, Intel, LSI Logic, Lenovo, NTT DoCoMo, NTT, Netease, Palm and Yahoo!. Ruby advised these and other companies on numerous capital markets and strategic transactions. Prior to moving to Silicon Valley, Ruby worked in Goldman Sachs’ Capital Markets Group in New York, where she participated in many Initial Public Offerings of technology companies. She also worked for Goldman Sachs in Asia, where she focused on a wide variety of restructuring and privatization projects such as China Southern Airlines, one of the largest domestic airline company in China, China Mobile and PTTEP, a leading oil and gas company in Thailand. Ruby holds a B.A. with honors from the University of Maryland and an M.A. from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She was born and spent her early years in Xiamen, Fujian Province, a coastal town in Southeastern China.
