Bio

Sandeep D. Alva, Managing Partner, founded Falcon Investment Advisors, LLC in July 2000. Mr. Alva was previously with John Hancock Life Insurance Company, where he held the positions of Senior Managing Director and Mezzanine and Private Equity Team Leader of John Hancock’s Bond & Corporate Finance Group. He joined John Hancock in 1985, and for the next five years executed numerous private market transactions, with an emphasis on mezzanine and private equity investments. In December 1989, he became a Principal at the investment firm of Joseph, Littlejohn and Levy and until March 1991 was involved in the acquisition of operationally and financially distressed companies. Mr. Alva returned to John Hancock in 1991, assuming a leadership role in John Hancock’s mezzanine and private equity investing activities. He has served on the Board of Directors of numerous portfolio companies, including current investments in Broadlane, Brightstar and WL Plastics. Mr. Alva received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Bombay University and an M.B.A. from Cornell University.
