Bio

Has been active in the European venture business for nearly a decade. At Accel Partners, focuses on investments in the internet (consumer and business centric), digital media and software markets. Prior to Accel, was a Partner at Atlas Venture in London and invested primarily in internet businesses for 8 years. Started her career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York City and was actively involved in M&A and financings for a number of clients including many high growth technology businesses. While at Goldman Sachs Sonali co-founded the Business Development Group, a new business unit within the investment banking division successfully set up to exclusively source and execute on acquisitions of smaller, fast growing businesses for the Fortune 50. While at Atlas Venture sat on the boards of Moo, Bizzenergy, Globoforce, Skinstore and Seatwave (was the founding investor). Was also a board member at Magicalia (acquired by Exponent Private Equity), Sendit (acquired by Pilton) and Moreover (acquired by Verisign). Before joining Atlas Venture, was a member of Deutsche Bank’s Venture Group in London. Sits on the boards of Wonga, Seatwave.com, Ubiquisys and Watagame.com. Attended Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and received a full merit based scholarship and graduated magna cum laude in Economics with Honours. Holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
