Bio

Steve Brackett is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Ironside Capital Group and its affiliates. He focuses on transaction origination and portfolio company management in each of the Firm's target industry sectors and is a member of the investment committee. Steve brings over twenty years of experience in the direct investment, private equity and investment banking fields. Prior to co-founding Ironside, and its predecessor, MF Private Capital, he managed the Corporate Advisory and Investment Banking services for the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Capital Corporation (BTMCC). Before joining BTMCC, Steve was the President and Chief Operating Officer of State Street Business Group, Inc., a Boston-based investment banking concern. He also held senior positions at First Winthrop Securities; Hoenig & Co., Inc.; and Drexel, Burnham & Lambert, Inc. He has been engaged in investments such as NewRiver, Inc.; StarGen, Inc.; Tritel, Inc. (acquired first by TeleCorp PCS, Inc. and later by AT&T Wireless, Inc.); Cerulean Technology, Inc. (acquired by Aether Systems, Inc.); Elastic Networks, Inc. (acquired by Paradyne Networks, Inc.); and Oratec Interventions, Inc. (acquired by Smith Nephew). He was a 2001 recipient of the T.O.Y.L. (Ten Outstanding Young Leaders) award from the Boston Junior Chamber of Commerce and was a 2002 recipient of the Boston Business Journal 40 Under 40 award. He also serves on a number of charitable boards, including the Massachusetts Mentoring Partnership, the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, The American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay (Board Treasurer and Chair of Finance Committee), Kieve Affective Education and the Reaching Back Foundation. Steve received his B.A. from Bates College in 1985.
