Mr. Waters most recently was a senior executive with Gartner (NYSE: IT). Gartner is the leading provider of research, events and advisory services for the global information technology industry. Over the past five years, Gartner grew to be a $1.2B enterprise with operations in 70 countries around the world. Mr. Waters held several leadership roles, including Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for the company's global Marketing and Corporate Communications efforts and President of Gartner's Executive Programs business unit, the world's largest family of subscription based membership and executive education programs for senior IT leaders and business executives around the world. As Head of Executive Programs, he led the expansion of the business to over $140M in retained contract value and 3600 participating executives across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Waters was the COO for Pinnacor/ScreamingMedia (NASD: PCOR). Pinnacor was an internet based content aggregation, syndication and business services provider based in New York City. In this global role, he was a member of the Executive Committee that took the company public in August 2000, had full P&L responsibility and led the expansion of the business to over $25M in annual revenues with operations into North America, Latin America, Europe and Australia. From 1985 to 1999, Mr. Waters spent 13 years with Gartner in a variety of senior sales, marketing and product leadership roles, including head of Eastern Region sales for North America and head of Worldwide Marketing. Over that time, Gartner grew from $10M to over $700M in annual revenues. In 1994, he developed and ran Gartner's highly successful IT Executive Program product. Over the next four years, Mr. Waters led the team that grew the membership to 1,000+ senior IT executives and $25M in revenues across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. The IT Executive Program offering became the foundation for Gartner's Executive Programs business. Mr. Waters started his career with Xerox Corporation in 1981, where he spent four years in sales and field marketing, based in New York City. Mr. Waters has a BA degree from the College of the Holy Cross.
