As a co-founder of Accuitive Medical Ventures, Mr Weldon brings over 25 years of operating experience, as well as critical fundraising skills in the medical device industry. Mr Weldon co-founded the medical device incubator The Innovation Factory (TIF) and serves as its chairman. He was also a co-founder and chairman of Novoste Corporation, the intracoronary radiation therapy company. He was chairman and CEO of Novoste from its inception in 1992 and led the company through its initial public offering in 1996. Through his role at The Innovation Factory, he was a co-founder of AcuFocus, LipoSonix, NeoVista, NeuroNetics, Cellutions, OsteoLign, AqueSys and Halscion. Mr Weldon currently is chairman of Cellutions and Halscion, and sits on the Cardiac Concepts board. He was formerly the chairman of LipoSonix, prior to its sale to Medicis. Mr Weldon holds nearly two dozen issued US patents on medical devices. Before co-founding Novoste, Mr Weldon held positions with Arthur Young & Company and Key Pharmaceuticals in various business and project management roles. Mr Weldon holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana University.
