Leads the Conversus investment team in sourcing, evaluating and closing primary, secondary and direct co-investment opportunities. Member of the Conversus Asset Management investment committee. Prior to founding Conversus in July of 2007, managed Bank of America’s portfolio of $11 billion in original commitments to private equity limited partnership investments. In this capacity, was Chairman of the Investment Committee from 2000 and a member of the Principal Investing senior management team from 1994. His industry leadership role led to the development of a premier private equity portfolio management system and he has chaired a private equity industry group assessing reporting issues in the industry. In 1977, Mr Franklin joined the predecessor bank Continental Illinois. His assignments covered a wide spectrum of the Company’s domestic and global business operations including capital markets, securities trading, investment and corporate banking, as well as principal investing. Served on the board of the Institutional Limited Partners Association, a non-profit organisation whose members represent over $750 billion of capital invested in the private equity industry. MBA from DePaul University in 1981. BS from the University of Illinois, Chicago, in 1977. Certified Public Accountant.
