Bio

Ms Baranowski is Vice President of Vatera Capital LLC. Prior to joining Vatera, Ms Baranowski spent five years with Novartis Pharmaceuticals, initially as a Senior Policy Advisor in the company's Basel, Switzerland headquarters. In this role, she restructured the Global Public Affairs & Communications group, managed the group's operations, and worked on a variety of international public health policy initiatives with senior management and international stakeholders. Ms Baranowski subsequently joined the Business Development & Licensing team, where she served as a Director and supported numerous in-licensing deals, shaped the Respiratory/Dermatology franchise's US strategy, and negotiated an important co-promotion agreement. Later, as part of the Reclast marketing team, Ms Baranowski launched a blockbuster osteoporosis drug in the US market. Reclast was Novartis' most successful US launch in ten years, resulting in cumulative sales in the first year of more than $130 mn, surpassing budget and benchmarks for competitive launches. Before joining Novartis, Ms Baranowski worked in Washington DC and abroad for US and foreign governments, focusing on international trade and investment policy issues. Her experience at the US Department of Commerce includes working on a team that negotiated a trade agreement with the Russian government worth over $1 billion in trade annually. Ms Baranowski also advised US-based businesses on international trade issues during her tenure at Dewey Ballantine LLP in Washington DC. Ms Baranowski has a BA in International Studies from American University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
