Ahmed has had an extensive and successful trading career, primarily as an options market maker in Chicago and New York. Ahmed excelled as a Senior Options Market Maker at Consolidated Trading in New York from 2002-2008. Ahmed traded equities, indices, FX, agriculture, and precious metal options and futures as a market maker and proprietary trader on and off the floor and on international exchanges. Ahmed developed profitable trading strategies and managed a team of traders at the firm’s New York office. Ahmed then worked as a Senior Options Market Maker with Liquid Capital Group in Chicago. He researched and analyzed cross-index volatility trades of international indices. He engaged in off-floor S&P 500 market-making, proprietary volatility trading and hedging. Ahmed managed the risk of the firm’s index options portfolio, including FX, interest rates, delta, and volatility exposure. Ahmed also led a trader development program and mentored and taught classes to junior members of the trading staff. Ahmed joined Diligentia Capital as a Senior Derivatives Strategist/Trader in 2010. Ahmed managed global options market-making portfolios including single-stock, index/ETFs, FX, and treasury bonds. He hedged global options and proprietary volatility trading portfolios to comply with risk management parameters. Ahmed also managed the firm’s compliance and financial management duties, including budget and service vendor negotiations. Ahmed also worked with financial engineers and programmers to develop and test relative value volatility trading strategies using R and Matlab.
