Bio

Joined the EBRD on 1 August 1992, and is currently Corporate Director. Responsible for the Procurement Department and the Consultancy and Corporate Procurement Department. Deputy Chair of the Technical Cooperation Committee, Deputy Chair of the Procurement and Contracts Committee and Chair of the Corporate Procurement Committee. Aso responsible for certain EU related initiatives. After working at Girozentrale in Vienna and London, joined the EBRD as a Senior Project Manager in August 1992 and was responsible for project and asset based finance. Became Senior Banker in 1994 and worked in various teams (Hungary, Power and Energy, Transport and Telecommunications). In 2000, was appointed Country Director for the Slovak Republic (based in Bratislava), with the addition of Hungary and Slovenia from 2004. In March 2006, was appointed Business Group Director, Infrastructure. In October 2007 took responsibility for the establishment of the EBRD Shareholder Special Fund and was responsible for the Official Co-financing Unit. Assumed his current position in January 2009. . An Austrian national, graduated from the Wirtschaftsuniversitaet Vienna and holds a PhD in Economics. Was a guest student at the College of Commerce in St Gallen, Switzerland, and at the George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
