Bio

Carsten Philipson joined CEA in Tampa 1990 and is primarily engaged in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate finance transactions. Carsten started his career in CEA's Munich office, where for a three-year period he was involved in a number of corporate finance and investment banking transactions in both Western and Central Europe. In 1993, Carsten relocated back to CEA's Tampa headquarters, where he was involved in the establishment and management of CEA's private equity investment funds. He served as a director in several of CEA's funds and was responsible for structuring and raising the $101 million Asia-Pacific fund in 1995 together with the London-based Barings Private Equity Group. In 1997, Carsten was appointed Managing Director of CEA's activities in the Middle East, where he structured a joint venture with a Middle Eastern-based company to form Communications Development Corporation, the Dubai-based Middle Eastern affiliate of CEA. After leaving CEA in 2002 to pursue other opportunities, he rejoined the company in 2004. Carsten holds a Master of Business Administration degree in corporate finance from Harvard Business School, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Commercial Academy of Copenhagen, Denmark. Part of his undergraduate studies were completed in Paris, France. He is a native of Denmark and is fluent in several European languages.
