Bio

David's Google career began more than 10 years ago, as Director of Global Communications and Public Affairs. In this role, David oversaw the company's PR and communications programs, and worked as a member of the senior leadership team to grow Google from a small startup, to a multi-billion dollar global enterprise. His accomplishments include driving public launches for nearly every technical innovation since the debut of the Google.com website in September 1999, leading financial communications behind an unconventional initial public offering, and serving as "the voice of Google" for a wide range of inquiries. Additionally, David founded Google's international communications function, helping extend Google's reach and awareness to both large and emerging markets around the world. David's prior professional experience spanned both startup and public companies, including Apple Computer, QUALCOMM, Four11 (now Yahoo! Mail), and two computer security software developers. As a proud Hoosier alumnus, he currently serves on the Dean's advisory board for the IU School of Informatics and Computer Science. David is also a member of the board of Palo Alto-Calif.-based Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. David received his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University - Bloomington.
