Bio

David Zyer is a Venture Partner with OCA Ventures. Previously, Dave was a Managing Director with UBS Investment Bank. His thirty years of financial services experience have been focused primarily in the equity and derivatives markets, in senior revenue and administrative leadership roles. For ten years, Dave led UBS’ Prediction proprietary trading business focused on deploying highly sophisticated quantitative models and a fully automated trade execution infrastructure in U.S. and foreign equity markets. He served on the Prediction Company LLC board of directors and led the acquisition and integration of Prediction Company for UBS. Dave served for two years as a leader of UBS’ program management function, including launching the investment bank’s “Y2K” program. Prior to the UBS – Swiss Bank Corporation merger, Dave led SBC’s Human Resource (HR) function for the investment bank, while serving in a dual role as Regional Head of HR for the Americas and Global Head of HR for the Capital Markets group. Dave began his financial services career in 1978 with O’Connor and Associates, where he served as a general partner from 1986 until the firm’s sale to SBC in 1992. He held a series of senior level trading, risk management and administrative leadership roles with O’Connor. Dave currently sits on the Board of Directors/Advisors of several non-profit institutions, including: WTTW-WFMT, Northwestern University School of Music, and the Concordia University Chicago President’s Advisory Council. His past board affiliations have included: The Intermarket Clearing Corporation board, The Options Clearing Corporation board nominating committee, and The DePaul University School of Music Advisory Board. Dave received his M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. degree in Finance (summa cum laude) from DePaul University.
