Bio

Eric Alt is a Managing Director, Co-Director of Research, and Head of the Absolute Return group which covers credit, distressed, and absolute return investments. He is also a member of the firm's Executive Committee and Investment Review Committee. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Alt spent four years as a Managing Director in convertible securities at Piper Jaffray & Co. in San Francisco. Previously, he worked for Robertson Stephens, most recently as a Managing Director in the convertible securities department. While at Piper Jaffray & Co. and Robertson Stephens, Mr. Alt was involved in over 100 convertible new issue and restructuring transactions. Prior to joining Robertson Stephens in 1997, Mr. Alt was a principal in an entrepreneurial venture and also worked at Kluge & Company, a private investment firm, where he focused on venture investments. He started his career in 1989 at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Dallas as a Certified Public Accountant in the firm's Real Estate Advisory group. Mr. Alt was named one of Institutional Investor's 2011 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds. He serves on the Advisory Boards of Fortress Credit Opportunities Funds I and II and Mount Kellett Capital Partners. Mr. Alt graduated summa cum laude from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.B.A. in Accounting and earned an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
