Bio

Mr Billings was instrumental in creating the firm's investment banking business in 1993. Initially focused on the financial institutions sector, the investment bank quickly grew to include real estate in 1994 when Mr Billings identified the opportunity created by the drive for increased securitization in the $3 trillion United States real estate market. Mr Billings actively supports a number of charitable organizations, personally and through the company's charitable foundation. He sits on the board of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and the Board of Visitors for the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Mr Billings began his career in the securities industry in 1981 at Legg Mason. He was born in Boston, MA and is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BA in Economics and Finance.
