oel Shaps has been president of Bedrock Capital Management since 2001, and manages the firm's operations and marketing. He is a registered investment advisor, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, and a Certified Investment Management Analyst(SM) professional, a member of NAPFA (National Association of Personal Financial Advisors), IMCA (Investment Management Consultants Association), and the Financial Planning Association. As a corporate growth and profit strategist prior to owning Bedrock, Joel established his own consulting business in purchasing and accounts payable auditing in 1989. The ShapsGroup was named one of the 500 fastest growing companies in the United States in both 1996 and 1997 by INC. magazine. After selling his company to PRG in 1997, Joel joined the senior management team and served as manager of several acquisitions in five cities. He has extensive merger and acquisition experience from more than 30 years in industry. B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, CFP and CIMA.
