Jose Gordo

Bio

Mr. Gordo joined ComVest as a Managing Director in December 2008. He has extensive transactional and operating experience in a diverse range of areas, including M&A and finance, corporate restructurings, distressed debt and equity workouts, operations oversight, business development and strategic planning and implementation. Prior to joining ComVest, he had an 11-year career in law and business that included advising public and private companies and investment firms on M&A and capital raising transactions as a partner of a leading Florida law firm, and serving as chief executive officer of a venture-capital backed Internet-based media company. Mr. Gordo’s transactional experience includes public and private company mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, leveraged buyouts, minority investments and divestitures. He has also guided companies through the capital-raising process as both an outside advisor and a senior executive and has experience with IPOs, high yield debt offerings, senior and mezzanine debt financings, venture capital fundraising and PIPEs. Mr. Gordo joined the law firm of Akerman Senterfitt in 2001, where he became a shareholder in 2004. From 1999 to 2001, he served first as the COO and, ultimately, as the CEO of an Internet start-up. His responsibilities at ComVest include sourcing, evaluating, structuring, negotiating and monitoring prospective investments. Mr. Gordo also serves as General Counsel to ComVest Group Holdings. Mr. Gordo received a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from the University of Miami.
