Laura Montes

Bio

Ms Montes joined iNovia Capital in early 2008; she is based in Alberta and supports the operations in Western Canada. She is responsible for identifying and evaluating potential portfolio companies. Prior to joining iNovia, Ms Montes worked with Cambridge Enterprise, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Cambridge responsible for the commercialization of technology arising from the University. Prior to that, she worked with Innovotech, a startup company developing solutions to highly resistant microbial infections, and SemBioSys (TSX:SBS), a biotech company developing pharmaceuticals for metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Ms Montes holds a BSc in Microbiology from the Universidad de los Andes, Colombia, a Master's degree in Biomedical Technology (MBT) from the University of Calgary and she is a graduate from the WestLink Technology Commercialization Internship program.
