Bio

Born in Zurich, Switzerland. Renowned fund manager, investment advisor, author and commentator. Marc has been running his own Hong Kong-based fund management and investment advisory business MARC FABER LIMITED since June 1990. Prior to that, he worked for White Weld & Company Ltd in New York, Zurich and Hong Kong; and was the Managing Director of Drexel Burnham Lambert (HK) Ltd from 1978 to Feb 1990. Dr Faber publishes a widely read monthly investment newsletter "The Gloom Boom & Doom Report" report which highlights unusual investment opportunities, and is the author of several books including the best-selling “TOMORROW'S GOLD – Asia's Age of Discovery”. The book, first published in 2002 and highlights future investment opportunities around the world, has been translated into Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai and German. Known for his “contrarian” investment approach, Dr Faber is a regular contributor to several leading financial publications and a regular speaker at investment seminars around the world. He is also associated with a variety of funds and is a member of the Board of Directors of numerous companies. A book on Dr Faber, "RIDING THE MILLENNIAL STORM", by Nury Vittachi, was published in 1998. Marc studied Economics at the University of Zurich and obtained a PhD in Economics magna cum laude at the age of 24.
