Martin Smith

Bio

Martin has been involved in investment management and investment banking for over 30 years. He founded and later chaired the investment banking and private equity firm Phoenix Securities. After the sale of Phoenix, he became chairman of DLJ’s European Investment Banking Group. He subsequently co-founded New Star Asset Management and was a senior advisor to Bain Capital. He is currently chairman of GP Bullhound and co-founder of Beaumont Partners. His family Foundation has created and endowed the Smith School for Enterprise and the Environment at Oxford University.
