Mike Allen

Bio

Mr Allen is the Chief Financial Officer of Vatera Capital LLC and Oikos Advisors LLC. In that capacity, Mr Allen leads the financial due diligence on potential investments, assists with the structuring of the terms of investments, and is responsible for putting in place the reporting and control mechanisms for monitoring investment performance. Mr Allen started his career with Price Waterhouse in Toronto where he spent several years in their General Audit Practice. Mr Allen transferred to Price Waterhouse London, UK where he joined their Capital Markets Group and focused on financial and operational risk management services to UK and European Financial Institutions. During this period, Mr Allen also spent 2 years seconded to Pricewaterhouse's East European Services Group where he assisted Western companies with negotiating and implementing Joint Ventures in Russia and the Soviet Union. After 10 years at PWC, Mr Allen joined UBS Investment Bank as Director and controller of their European Equities Business. UBS transferred Mr Allen to New York to be controller of their North American Treasury Operations and subsequently, on the merger with SBC, to Stamford CT to take on controller responsibility for their entire Equity Businesses in the Americas. After 10 years at UBS, prior to joining Oikos, Mr Allen spent 3 yrs with GlobeOp Financial Services as Director and Operating Committee Member. GlobeOp is a private company with operations in New York, London and Mumbai which provides a risk, valuation, middle and back office processing platform and administration services for complex hedge funds. Mr Allen holds a BComm Honours degree from Queen's University. He is also qualified as a Chartered Accountant and has completing his MBA at York University in Toronto.
