Patrick Chun

Bio

Patrick joined Bain Capital Ventures in 2010. He is working on early-to-growth-stage investments in the business services, digital media, consumer and telecom sectors. He has worked with senior management in BCV portfolio companies on their strategic planning processes, senior level recruiting, business development, and marketing efforts. Prior to joining Bain Capital Ventures, Patrick was a technology private equity investor at Francisco Partners, where he was involved with growth equity and leveraged buyout investments in the digital media, enterprise software, financial technology, and Internet hardware sectors. Patrick spent significant time in Asia, including Australia and Japan, working on investments and with portfolio companies. In addition to his investing experience, Patrick has served as a Product Manager with Microsoft Gaming Studios, as well as in management and advisory roles with several early-stage start-ups. He began his career as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York City. Patrick received his MBA with Honors from Harvard Business School, where he was Student Body President from 2009-2010. Patrick was actively involved with the entrepreneurial ecosystem at HBS, including having worked on two business plans, test-launched a market-signaling-driven recruiting product, and worked closely with school administration and leadership to strengthen the entrepreneurial opportunities on campus. Patrick currently sits on the executive committee of the HBS Asian American Alumni Association. Patrick has an MA in Regional Asian Studies from Harvard University and a BA in Economics (Honors, cum laude) from Harvard College. Patrick was actively involved in social activism and journalism while at Harvard College, and was the managing editor of the Harvard Asia Pacific Review.
