Reinout F. Van Lennep is recognised for his exceptional banking experience and has held several senior positions throughout his career. He is based in Zurich and is an independent advisor to ultra-high net worth families (UHNW) around the world and specialises in finance, wealth management and family governance. It is this specialist knowledge that makes him an ideal addition to the Kohli Ventures team. Before becoming an independent advisor in January 2012, he was Managing Director at ABN AMRO Bank and responsible for its global international private banking business from 1995 to 2004, followed by seven years as senior banker to ultra-high net worth families in western and eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America. Prior to that he was Vice President at JP Morgan and worked at the company for 11 years in Amsterdam and London. His career has always been dedicated to the field of banking and finance. Initially as a certified credit analyst at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, he was promoted to Vice President at JP Morgan in Amsterdam and London. After joining ABN AMRO Bank in 1989, he advanced to become deputy CEO in Hong Kong and then CEO in Taiwan, UK and Switzerland, and was a member of several boards in that group. Mr Van Lennep studied at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands where he obtained his masters degree in Law. He then studied Russian in the Dutch Military Intelligence. Over the past 10 years, he has focused more on family governance and next generation issues and has been a regular speaker on such issues. Mr Van Lennep currently serves on a number of corporate and family foundation boards in Europe and Asia and advises families in not only those regions, but also in Argentina and the US.
