Spencer P Hoffman

Bio

Joined the Philadelphia office of LMP as a Principal in February 2007. Main responsibilities include taking a lead role in sourcing portfolio investments, developing investment structures and working with the management teams of portfolio companies. Prior to joining LMP, Spencer was a Principal at Safeguard Scientifics, a publicly traded growth capital investor. In his five years at Safeguard, Spencer completed over 20 private equity and public transactions totaling over $700 million across a variety of industries, stages, and structures. Prior to Safeguard, Spencer was an associate with Mellon Ventures where he was active in all aspects of their venture investing activities. He began his career in Merrill Lynch's Global Investment Banking Group where he worked on a variety of equity, convertible debt, M&A, and other strategic mandates, and then joined MicroStrategy as Manager of Corporate Affairs, reporting to the CEO. MBA in Finance and Private Equity from the Wharton School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from Brown University.
