Ms Sue Siegel believes the transformation of medicine from an art to a science is here, and that advances in information technology have brought medicine into the digital age. The convergence of these disciplines is driving personalized, consumer-driven and information-based healthcare Ms Sue joined Mohr Davidow in 2007 drawn by the firm’s commitment to investing around technology convergence and personalized medicine. She arrived after a distinguished career as a corporate leader and with a background in biochemistry and molecular biology. “I was attracted by the clear investing thesis around personalized medicine,” she says. “Combine this focus with the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs to build companies that help improve human health and grow jobs in our innovation economy…how lucky can one be?” In 1998, Ms Sue joined Affymetrix, a startup on steroids and a pioneering life science company, to lead the commercialization efforts for the company’s state-of-the-art GeneChip® technology. A year later, she took the helm as president and shortly after was appointed a board member. She led the company through a tremendous growth phase. During her presidency, the company scaled to almost $400 million in yearly revenue and was valued as a multi-billion market cap growth company Ms Sue and her husband co-founded with Stanford Hospital, Checking-In™, an organization dedicated to serving our aging population & she was named a Silicon Valley Woman of Influence As a member of the Presidents’ Circle of the National Academies, Ms Sue serves as an advisor to the Institute of Medicine. She also serves on The Gladstone Institutes’ Advisory Council and the Stanford ITI Council, is a YPO member, and was named a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute in 2003. Sue is Emeritus Board member of the Silicon Valley Tech Museum. Ms Siegel holds a MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University Medical School; received her BS in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico
