Bio

Mr Guerrero worked for Arthur Andersen as an auditor and consultant between 1979 and 1988, providing him with the opportunity to make contact with some of the firm's leading clients. He would later take the helm of the family food business, where he was CEO for four years. Before joining Suala, Mr Guerrero was a partner of Vista Capital, Spain's leading private equity firm, which was founded jointly by Santander Investment and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Mr Guerrero was in charge of leading and developing the Superdiplo transaction, a 50/50 venture between Vista and Charterhouse created in 1994. This operation involved the consolidation of 31 regional supermarket chains into a single company that was eventually listed on the Spanish stock exchange in 1998 and sold to Ahold NV in 2000. Superdiplo was the largest and most profitable private equity transaction yet carried out in Spain, with total investments of 162 million Euro generating gains 798 million Euro. During his time at Vista, Mr Guerrero was also responsible for other successful transactions, including Miquel i Costas, Estacionamientos Subterráneos and Vilesa. He has also held seats on the Boards of all these companies and was Vice-Chairman of Superdiplo. Mr Guerrero joined Suala as a Partner in 2001, becoming Chairman of the firm in February 2002. Mr Guerrero is currently a Director of Mivisa, an investee company, and Ahold Spain. Mr Guerrero holds a degree in Law and an MBA from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid.
