Bio

Hal S. Broderson, M.D. has spent over eighteen years creating, funding and managing venture capital backed biomedical companies. From 1997 until the present, he has been the Managing Director and Founder of Rock Hill Ventures, an advisory firm successfully funding and managing biomedical start-ups by pioneering the use of a novel, cash efficient, virtual company business model. From 1988-1997, he was a General Partner of Hillman Medical Ventures, LP, a nationally based venture capital fund investing in early stage biomedical opportunities. He has been CEO of six companies each focused in different therapeutic areas including GenVec, Inc. [Nasdaq:GNVC], Focus Pharmaceuticals, Inc, and Agile Therapeutics, Inc. During these tenures, he has advanced four products from the pre-IND stage to Phase 2 clinical trials. Dr. Broderson has extensive experience in technology evaluation and transfer, business development, clinical development, and progressively raising significant amounts of investor capital from early seed/start-up stage to syndicated follow-on rounds. M.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
