Mr Alphonse’s responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating, structuring and monitoring buyout transactions for Sterling Capital Partners. Previously, he was director of business development at KnowledgeFirst, a San Francisco–based financial services software company, where he was responsible for fundraising, business development and strategic planning. Mr Alphonse was previously an Associate in the investment banking division of Thomas Weisel Partners, where he provided corporate finance coverage to Internet-based business service companies. Prior to that, Philip held positions with investment firms including McCown De Leeuw & Co, a leveraged buyout fund, and Kingdom Holdings, an investment holding company, where he conducted emerging market investments in the telecommunications and financial sectors. Previously, Philip was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr Alphonse holds an AB with honors from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University.
