Adam Schecter

Bio

Mr Schecter comes to Katalyst through its merger with New World Ventures where he was a Partner. Mr Schecter joined New World in 2000 and led a number of technology investments that focused on enterprise software, business services and data storage. Mr Schecter served as a member of the board of directors with many of New World's portfolio companies. Currently, he is a board member of LeftHand Networks Inc. and Wealthsense Inc.Prior to joining New World, Mr Schecter worked with Baxter Healthcare Corporation where he oversaw the company's venture investment activities and spearheaded merger and acquisition transactions, strategic alliances and joint ventures.Prior to joining Baxter, Mr Schecter was a senior corporate attorney for Katten Muchin & Zavis in Chicago. While at KMZ, his practice focused on venture capital and LBO transactions, mergers & acquisitions and public offerings. Mr Schecter was also a founding member of KMZ's Information Technology Group. Prior to KMZ, Mr Schecter was a senior accountant in the M&A and Audit divisions of Arthur Andersen & Co in Washington DC. Mr Schecter's principal investing, finance and legal experience spans 15 years and includes over 100 transactions. Mr Schecter graduated with honors from the University of Virginia McIntyre School of Commerce with a BS degree. He received his juris doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Mr Schecter is also a Certified Public Accountant.
